“I wish I lived closer!” is a lament I hear often in my business. So many women wish they were closer to my Preston, Connecticut studio so they can become LHI Girls! Lucky for them, my corner of CT is a major tourist destination and is home to two of the world’s biggest casinos (Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun), beautiful beaches, golf courses, historic Mystic, CT, rolling farmland, museums, art galleries, and endless wine trails! Many clients choose to fly to my studio or drive in for a long weekend, shooting on Friday and then enjoying the  local attractions over the weekend! Clients have flown in from all over the world and I was incredibly excited when Christie applied for a recent model call, even though it would require her arranging to fly into Hartford from Detroit. Christie told me she really needed a confidence boost and to reconnect with herself and I was thrilled when she agreed to share her feelings with us here!

LHI: What initially made you decide to apply for our model call?

Christie: A friend, who I have always thought was amazingly beautiful, talked about the fabulous experience and boost of confidence from shooting with Beth and what a great experience it was. I would normally not apply, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to take a chance and what a chance it was! I currently live in Michigan and wasn’t even concerned with how I was going to get there if I got picked, I just knew I wanted to experience this amazing opportunity!

LHI: What was your biggest fear before you arrived for your shoot? Did it come true and, if not, what happened instead?

Christie: I was afraid that I would look like an 80’s Glamour Shots photo or that what I see when I look at myself would be the immortalized in print. My photos exceeded my expectations by far and they are timeless. I look at the prints and think, damn I look sexy as hell!! When I was creating my photo album, Beth even helped me design which pictures would look the best on what type of layout.

LHI: What was your favorite part of your photo shoot?

Christie: I was stressing about what to bring to the shoot and texted Beth. She calmed me down and helped me to relax. Everything about the shoot was such an amazing experience that I want to do it all over again! Beth is a total professional and I felt so comfortable being with her that I almost forgot I was in various stages of undress! I wish I could do this every day!

LHI: Why should women treat themselves to this experience? Did you see yourself in a different light after your shoot?

Christie: I kept saying, oh when I lose more weight, I’ll splurge on this. Guess what?!? I actually weighed the most I have when I applied and went on my shoot. And you know what, I don’t care! I was also in a miserable job, traveling all the time, and stressing on if they would have the funds to pay me. I quit that job and am running my own successful business. I know it seems like it was ‘just’ a photo shoot, but I saw myself the way others see me and it boosted my confidence to believe in myself!

LHI: If you were going to tell your best friend about your experience with Lost Highway Imaging, what would you tell her?

Christie: If?!? I have told anyone who will listen to go…now…to book an appointment with Beth! It truly was life-changing for me. I feel more confident which in turn makes me feel more sexy. I wish I hadn’t waited and did this years ago! This experience is proof that you don’t have to have the perfect body (whatever that is) to treat yourself to something that I wish every woman could enjoy. I am currently trying to figure out when I can come back and do it all over again, it was that spectacular of an experience.
