Fashion Fridays – Antique Elegance

I’m introducing a new series on the blog, totally focused on the eternal question… what to wear! Choosing your wardrobe for your boudoir photo shoot at our studio might feel a little intimidating but it doesn’t need to! Our recent acceptance into the International Association of Boudoir Photographers has been a huge honor in many ways and it has also been a enormous benefit for us! Not only do they support and provide a network for professional boudoir photographers all over the globe, they also provide us with benefits like beautiful, custom Polyvore style boards! As a girl, I love following style trends… particularly in lingerie and shoes, lol! My career choice has made that love more than just a hobby, it is a necessity! I love being able to provide my clients with style advice that is chic, modern and camera-ready! The girls at AIBP know better than most which outfits will just shine on camera and these style boards showcase that knowledge perfectly!

Antique style is hot right now, both on the runways and on the racks of your local shops and boutiques. It tends to showcase muted hues of ivory, lavender, robin’s egg blue, aqua, petal pink and mint. Look for elegant lace, soft satin, delicate textures and vintage details. This style looks amazing paired with pearls and simple nude shoes. Don’t overlook those finishing details, such as floral hairpieces, a little bit of sparkle or delicate trims.

There are so many options and price points available that you are certain to find something you love that not only flatters your body type, but suits your budget as well! These style boards showcase a range of price points, from budget-conscious to absolute luxurious indulgence! The best part of Polyvore is that if you fall in love with something, you can often find a link right on the board that will lead you to the site where it is available! If you are looking to shop local, Forever 21, H&M and Charlotte Russe have TONS of vintage and antique looks in their stores right now. They are budget friendly and photograph beautifully! If you are looking for something a bit more indulgent then peruse the selection at Victoria’s Secret and La Perla. If absolute luxury is your desire then take a peek at Agent Provocateur.

If you have questions about fit, the best styles for your figure or any other questions about wardrobe choices for your shoot you know where to find me! I’ll walk you through every step of the process so don’t hesitate to ask! Click on the board below to be taken directly to Polyvore, where all of the pieces on the board are listed individually with prices and locations.
